I'm Ivana and I am the creator of Gaia Goodies. I work out of my studio and garden in Melbourne. It’s a sanctuary that provides me with inspiration for all that I design and make.
Before I started making Beeswax Bags I made my living in Health and Interiors. Working in Corporate Interiors I was passionate about teaching how your selection of colour can make a difference to how you feel in a space.
I studied Health Sciences and this lead to a deep interest in alternative healing and the power of nature. It’s such a gift, living in Australia, to be surrounded by indigenous plants that hold so many natural healing properties.
I've been creating and making things from plants and flowers ever since I was a young child. I have been lucky to have been brought up with parents who were are avid gardeners, wholesome foods advocates and garment manufactures. They passed on a wealth of knowledge that I now have and share about plants, propagating, sewing and design.
I named my business Gaia Goodies because "Gaia" was the Greek Goddess who presided over earth. Each day I commit to living my life ethically, sustainably and with a long term view to a healthy planet. I make choices in my personal and business life that align with these principles.
Gaia Goodies bags are made from vintage and waste fabric. We take high quality natural fabrics to upcycle into our products.
My core driving ethos is ethical and sustainable living. As an added incentive for every bundle sold we collaborate with Seed 2 Leaves to plant trees in the Wyndham region and beyond read more about our partnership here.
